The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.
Well, that was quick. KRAVEN THE HUNTER disappears off the chart just as quickly as it arrived. Last week, it debuted with 1% unaided thanks to a new trailer. But as so frequently happens, it slid off the chart a week later.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 returned to the chart last week thanks to a new trailer. But unlike KRAVEN, SONIC increased this week from 2% to 3%. This film is looking very healthy.
In its final week on the Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart, VENOM: THE LAST DANCE enters the six-week window with a somewhat unimpressive 1%. Hopefully, it will rise in the coming weeks. A new trailer released today should help. Meanwhile, WICKED is beginning to take off. WICKED debuted on the chart at 5% back when the campaign launched during the Super Bowl, but it hasn’t been above 2% since. With a jump to 3%, WICKED is now at its highest level since that high mark in February.
Elsewhere, once again BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE was tops, ended its run with 21% unaided, second only to BARBIE. Though it’s not featured in the chart below because it’s less than six weeks out, TERRIFIER 3 registered 1% unaided for the first time. This one may carve out some decent business if distributor Cineverse can close the deal.
