Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart – That Was Fast. THUNDERBOLTS* Falls Off And SNOW WHITE Makes An Impressive Return

The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.

Well, that was short. It took nearly three months for THUNDERBOLTS* to debut on the Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart and one week to fall off. Still, it’s better to have charted than never chart and all. Thankfully, last week’s two other debuts, LILO & STITCH, and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE THE LAST RECKONING, both managed to stay on the chart for a second week.

Meanwhile, SNOW WHITE returns after a six-week absence. And it does so in impressive style, reaching 2% for just the second time. Could this be the beginning of an extended run on the chart through its March release? That certainly appears true for A MINECRAFT MOVIE, which is now spending its 5th straight week above 1%.

Elsewhere, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 is only slightly ahead of MUFASA: THE LION KING at 9%. KRAVEN THE HUNTER ends its run at 4%, while LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM arrives in theaters at 2%. A COMPLETE UNKNOWN and BABYGIRL both register 1% unaided for the first time this week.
