The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.
This week, we say goodbye to MOANA 2, which is now within six weeks of release. In its place, three films return to the Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart.
A MINECRAFT MOVIE makes an impressive return after failing to reach 1% for two weeks in a row. This is a good sign for a film nearly six months away. SNOW WHITE, which last appeared on this chart in late August, also returns to the chart. This one is five months away.
Perhaps the most noteworthy return is KRAVEN THE HUNTER, just its second appearance on the chart after a quick appearance in August. KRAVEN has struggled in the other traditional tracking metrics. Awareness has yet to cross 30%, and interest has been trending down. Hopefully, a rise in unaided indicates that the other metrics will start to rise. KRAVEN is only eight weeks from release, so this is when we’d like to see the numbers increase.
Elsewhere, SMILE 2 ended its run with 8% unaided, with VENOM: THE LAST DANCE right behind at 7%. HERE and HERETIC crossed the 1% threshold for the first time with 1% each.
