The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.
In some ways, this is the quiet before the Super Bowl storm. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t movement on the charts. THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS makes its debut after flirting with the 1% line for a few weeks. It likely would have cracked 1% even if a trailer hadn’t dropped. In other words, it could continue to rise next week.
The Quorum added WICKED: FOR GOOD this week, mainly because we already saw elevated levels of unaided awareness. It registered 2% this week, though, as we explain here, that number could be higher. GOOD is 41 weeks away from graduating from this chart, so expect to see it here for quite a while.
We thought SINNERS would reach 1% this week. It couldn’t quite do it, though it did inch closer. On the heels of its campaign launch during the Grammy’s M3GAN 2.0 lurches forward to the bubbling under chart.
As for next week, expect big jumps for JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH, along with all the other films advertising during the Super Bowl. There is reporting that ELIO will have a presence at the big game. It will be interesting to see if that can crack the chart.
Elsewhere, CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD is tops with 13% after a two week run at 12%, and both HEART EYES and LOVE HURTS arrived in theaters at 3%.
