Grading November Posters

It was a slow month for new posters. There were only eight posters for fans to vote on, and for the most part, they all scored well.

On the heels of a disappointing opening for STRANGE WORLD, which never took flight on tracking, Disney has to feel encouraged by the fact that ELEMENTAL was the top scoring poster of the month. In fact, ELEMENTAL came very close to scoring an elusive A+ grade.

The latest AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER came in 2nd place with an A. That’s just one more feather in its crown as it sits comfortably atop the awareness and interest charts.

Universal gave us the poster for COCAINE BEAR just two days ago, but the last minute entry lands at #3 with a B+ grade. It just edged out the second one sheet to drop for KNOCK AT THE CABIN. This one came in just ahead of the B grade for the teaser poster released in September.

With the holiday box office just around the corner, expect a greater rush of new posters in the coming weeks. Bigger movies means increased foot traffic, which means more eyeballs on the poster lining theater hallways. Look for studios to cash in with more key art for their big 2023 releases.
