Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart – Will THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Be The Next To Crack The Chart?

The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.

Talk about a quiet week. There was almost no movement on the Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart. SUPERMAN held steady at 7%, which means these scores are no flash in the pan. It looks like the film will stay at this elevated level through release.

After reaching new highs last week, SNOW WHITE and A MINECRAFT MOVIE slid back from 3% to 2%. LILO & STITCH advanced from 1% to 2%, and THUNDERBOLTS* has now spent consecutive weeks on the chart for the first time.

What’s the next movie that might debut beyond the eight films listed below? THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS is edging closer to the 1% threshold. And MICKEY 17 is showing signs of life, though it’s likely that it won’t reach 1% until after it enters the six-week window, meaning it may not qualify for this chart.

Elsewhere, CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD is tops this week at 7%, just a fraction higher than SUPERMAN. DEN OF THIEVES 2: PANTERA ends its run at 3%, and BETTER MAN expands wide having never reached 1% unaided. No other new films reached 1% for the first time this week, though ONE OF THEM DAYS is close.

  1. So Superman has now recorded a 5% /7%/7% in its first 3 weeks after the trailer drop. DP&Wolverine also recorded an impressive 9%/7%/6% in its first 3 weeks after the Super Bowl trailer drop.

That seems really good, I’d love an article detailing how well exactly is Superman doing on these charts compared to previous titles and what should we expect in the summer.
