Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart – BEETLEJUICE Watch Begins

The Weekly Unaided Awareness Chart includes any film more than six weeks from release, registering at least 1% unaided awareness (UA). This metric is highly correlated to opening weekend gross. Early signs of UA more than six weeks out often translate to box office success upon release.

Yesterday, we got our first look at BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE, thanks to a teaser trailer that leaned into nostalgia while still making the new film look fresh. BEETLEJUICE has been dancing along the edges of the unaided awareness chart since last December. In some weeks, it registers more than 1% unaided; in other weeks, it falls short of the chart.

The sequel returns to the chart this week after a one-week absence with 1% unaided. Look for that number to grow next week once the full impact of the trailer is measured.

Elsewhere, INSIDE OUT 2 continues to ride the wave of its trailer, released on March 7th. And speaking of animated films, DESPICABLE ME 4 slips below 1% after a seven-week run on the chart.

Last week, GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE scored the highest unaided of all films on The Quorum at 6%. This week, it slips back to 5%, which is a sign that perhaps the film will perform towards the lower end of box office forecasts. It also surrenders the top spot to GODZILLA X KONG: A NEW EMPIRE, which registered 6% unaided this week.
