The Quorum

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME breaks the 70% / 7.0 barriers.

Back in early November, we asked if any 2021 film would open above $100M. At the time, we noted that SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME had the best chance of reaching that milestone. Today that seems rather quaint. Six weeks later, it looks like HOME will open north of $150M.

As the film arrives in theaters, HOME reaches previously unseen heights on The Quorum. As you can see below, awareness for HOME is a massive 73%. That’s a full 10 points higher than the previous record-holder, WONDER WOMAN 1984, which had 63% awareness back in the pre-vaccine era.

That’s not the only record broken by HOME. On the interest side, HOME has become the first film to cross the 7.0 threshold. While it’s true that interest scores have been on the rise, a score above 7.0 is seemed impossible just a few months ago. Today, it looks like a score above 7.0 may become more common. THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS is on the verge of being the 2nd film to hit that mark.

As theatrical (and the rest of the world) is bracing for a wave of uncertainty from the Omicron variant, let’s take a moment to celebrate what looks like an astronomical win for theatrical.
